How To Get The Most From The SMS ATM Locator.
When using the SMS locator, there are a few things that you can do to help it find the closest ATMs.
When you perform a search*, the locator uses the information that you supply to attempt to put a point on a map, marking where it thinks you are. The locator then looks for the closest ATMs to that point.
As the SMS locator Service only has a limited number of characters to use, if there is one ATM that is clearly much closer than the others, the locator will return the address of just that ATM.
However, if there are several ATMs close to where it thinks you are, then the locator will try to give you basic information on as many of those ATMs as possible, within the limited number of characters available. In these cases, it may also give you a reference number so that you can reply* to get more details on one ATM.
Search Tips:
-
It is often better to use suburb and state rather than postcode. This is because a postcode might cover multiple suburbs;
-
When using a suburb name to search, it is best to include the state. This is because a suburb name might be used in more than one state.
